Netherlands warns over potentially deadly ecstasy pills moulded like Donald Trump
Trimbos Institute issues red alert after Trump‑shaped ecstasy pills show up at drug‑checking sites in the Netherlands.

Health officials in the Netherlands have issued a warning about ecstasy tablets shaped like the head of former U.S. President Donald Trump, saying the pills are potentially deadly and should not be taken under any circumstances.
The tablets have been found in several colours and carry printed markings reading "Trump" and "NL," according to a red alert issued by the Trimbos Institute, a Dutch centre for research on drugs and addiction based in Utrecht.
Authorities say the pills' appearance makes them easy to identify, but that visual recognition does not indicate their chemical content or potency.
Testing locations received samples
The Trimbos Institute reported that samples of the Trump-head tablets have been delivered to multiple drug-checking sites across the country as part of routine monitoring and safety work. Officials emphasised that pills resembling novelty shapes or carrying celebrity imagery can still contain dangerous or unpredictable combinations of substances.
"At the moment it is not possible to know how many pills are in circulation, but they have been received at several drug testing locations," said Aniek Groothuis, spokesperson for the Trimbos Institute.
Public-health bodies warned people not to consume the tablets and encouraged anyone who encounters them to submit samples to local drug-checking services so experts can determine their composition and alert the public if further risk is identified.
