Jensen Huang: US and China must cooperate on safe AI development
Huang spoke in London after Nvidia pledged $250 million over five years to support UK research on AI safety and agent security.

Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang said it is essential that the United States and China cooperate on the safe development of artificial intelligence during remarks at an event in central London.

The comments came after Nvidia announced a donation of $250 million over five years to support research into the safety and security of AI agents in the United Kingdom. Huang addressed reporters following the event in London.
“We believe this technology will be powerful and potentially dangerous. We absolutely must cooperate with each other to advance the technology safely,” Huang told reporters after the event.
Asked about the so‑called "Face Hugging" incident, Huang said companies should “take responsibility” before appealing to higher authorities.
“As for the incidents that have happened so far, and those we know about — I mean, we only know about what we've been informed of — addressing such incidents in laboratories requires technology and engineering, not laws and regulations. We know what the technology is, we know what engineering is involved, so we should simply get on with that work. Before you ask for greater powers, you must take responsibility and act yourselves. You do that at home, with your children, in your own company… Well, I don't know exactly what they do, but I just want to emphasize: before we turn to higher instances — even to the highest possible authority — we should do everything in our power to take responsibility ourselves for the incidents that have occurred. This is about engineering; these are engineering problems,” said Jensen Huang, chief executive officer of Nvidia.
