Ibrahima Konaté officially joins Real Madrid until 2030
Contract announced on 18 June 2026 and formalised on 20 August 2026; Konaté will wear the number 16 shirt.
Ibrahima Konaté has been confirmed as a Real Madrid player on a contract running until 2030, with the club completing the registration on 20 August 2026.
The move had been made public earlier in the summer — the agreement was first announced on 18 June 2026 — but Real Madrid completed the formal steps and presented the transfer on 20.08.2026 at 14:45.
Transfer details
Konaté arrives from Liverpool, where his performances earned him the switch to one of world football’s biggest clubs. At Real Madrid he will wear the number 16 shirt, the squad number previously held by Gonzalo García.
The signing strengthens Real Madrid's defensive options ahead of the new season and closes one of the headline transfers of the summer window.
Club officials confirmed the length of the contract — running to 2030 — and the club have already begun integrating Konaté into training and squad plans for the coming campaign.
