Igor Stefanovski heads to Buzet for FIA EHCC finale
Stefanovski arrives at the 45- Buzetski dani after a promising start with the new Nova Proto; 242 drivers are entered and he now races in Category 2.
Igor Stefanovski — Idzhe arrives in Buzet as the FIA European Hill Climb Championship reaches its season finale. From 18 to 20 September 2026 the Croatian town will host the concluding rounds of the FIA EHCC, and Stefanovski is entered to compete after a promising start to the year.
New car, bigger stakes
Following a strong opening with his new prototype "Nova Proto" in Slovenia, Stefanovski has set his sights on the landmark 45- Buzetski dani 2026, an event that traditionally draws many of Europe’s top hillclimb drivers. The official entry list counts 242 competitors, and Category 2 — where Stefanovski now races with the new car — features the leading names of the continental elite.
"We expect a good result and want to continue this beautiful European story there. Buzet has a special place in my career," Stefanovski said, underlining his motivation and promising a show for the local fans.
Buzet is already linked with milestones in Stefanovski’s career: it was on this track last season that he reached his 200th race, and he closed the previous FIA European Hill Climb Championship season with a strong third place in Group 1.
This season Stefanovski has stepped up to Category 2, the championship’s most prestigious and technically advanced class, after switching to the Nova Proto prototype. The move increases the level of competition and raises expectations for what he can achieve in the final weekend.
The last rounds of the European championship promise fierce battles and another spectacle on Buzet’s famous course. Macedonian supporters will have a fresh opportunity to cheer their driver as he chases a strong finish to the season.
