Igor Dzambazov recalls his mother Anche on the 29th anniversary of her death
The showman posted an old wedding photo and remembered that his mother died on September 30, 1997; a cache of 500+ letters was later found.

September 30 is a date of mixed emotions for Igor Dzambazov — both celebration and sorrow — and this year the Macedonian showman marked it with a personal nostalgia post.
Dzambazov shared a rare black-and-white wedding photograph of his parents on his Instagram account, pairing the image with the instrumental „Marooned“ by Pink Floyd. The picture shows his mother, Anche, in a bridal gown holding a bouquet and his father, Aleksandar Dzambazov, smiling proudly at her side.
Under the photo Igor wrote: "29 years without my Anche... 64 years since their wedding. On the same date, both the greatest joy and endless sorrow. Life..."
Memories, letters and a planned book
The post reminded followers that Anche Dzambazova, daughter of the actor Petre Prlicko, died on September 30, 1997, at the age of 55 — a loss that left a lasting mark on the family. Aleksandar mourned her for decades and, according to family memories, never sought another partner.
One oft-repeated family anecdote preserves Aleksandar's devotion. When Igor once suggested going to the opera with an acquaintance, Aleksandar replied sharply, "Shame on you — for me there is only your mother, Anche!"
After Aleksandar's death in 2022, Igor and his sister Tanja found a wooden box containing more than 500 letters Anche had written to Aleksandar while he was serving in the army for a year and a half. Igor has said he intends to publish those letters as a book in the future.
The Instagram post drew thousands of likes and many comments from fans and fellow artists, including Kaliopi and Zarina Prvasevda. Dzambazov often credits his career achievements to the genes, upbringing and unconditional love he received from his mother, his father and his grandfather Petre Prlicko.
