Igor Kojić and Nikolina Šaponja are expecting a child

Igor Kojić has confirmed he and his partner, 27-year-old Nikolina Šaponja from Rijeka, are expecting a child, ending weeks of speculation about the couple.

Nikolina Šaponja first came to public attention as a model and beauty pageant contestant. In 2019 she was named first runner-up in the Miss Primorje-Gorski Kotar County contest, and later broadened her activities beyond fashion.

From modelling to local politics

After modelling, Šaponja became involved in local civic life in Rijeka: she served as a representative in the SDP Youth Forum and was a member of the City of Rijeka Youth Council, engaging with issues affecting young people and the local community.

The announcement that Kojić is to become a father drew attention because of his very public past relationships. His father, the well-known singer Dragan Kojić Keba, spoke positively about the new partner and said he likes her as a person, while noting that the final decision about the relationship’s future belongs to Igor himself.

Kojić, who was married to Croatian singer Severina Vučković from 2015 until their official divorce in August 2021, has in recent years tried to keep his private life out of the spotlight. Friends say this new relationship appears to bring stability.
