Inter Milan to be without John Stones for about one month

Inter Milan will be without defender John Stones for roughly one month after he suffered a thigh injury in the club's recent Serie A home game against Udinese.

Medical checks confirm the layoff

Additional medical examinations carried out on Stones confirmed the extent of the injury, and the club has made the diagnosis public. The scans indicate a muscular problem in the thigh that will keep the England international on the sidelines for about one month.

Stones joined Inter this summer from Manchester City and has featured in four matches so far, earning a regular role and minutes in Simone Inzaghi's side. The defender had picked up the injury during the previous Serie A match at the Giuseppe Meazza against Udinese.

Inter now faces a short-term defensive reshuffle as they plan around Stones's absence, with the coaching staff set to adjust lineups and minutes distribution for the coming fixtures in the domestic league and other competitions.

The club expects Stones to follow a rehabilitation programme under the medical team at Inter while his recovery is monitored week to week, with a targeted return when he is fully fit and cleared by the doctors.
