How the match turned

Bologna struck first when Tommaso Pobega capitalised on an early Inter defensive error and finished from close range in the 10th minute to put the hosts ahead. Inter failed to reply immediately and Bologna even created further chances in the opening period. Inter found an opening just before the break: Piotr Zieliński delivered a dangerous cross in the 44th minute and Marcus Thuram rose to head home the equaliser, restoring parity going into half‑time. After the interval Cristian Chivu’s side grew into the game and seized control. The lead came in the 69th minute when Zieliński’s delivery was turned in from close range by Carlos Augusto, who had recently come on.
