Iran outlines conditions for resuming peace talks with the US

Iran has presented a set of conditions to mediators for restarting peace talks with the United States, Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said in an interview.
Key demands from Tehran
According to Rezaei, Tehran's requirements include an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, the unfreezing of Iranian assets and the removal of the maritime blockade. These three points form the core requests Iran wants met before negotiations continue.
Rezaei said consultations with envoys from Qatar and Pakistan are underway as part of the mediation effort. He portrayed those contacts as a channel for transmitting Tehran's position to Washington.
The Iranian official added that Tehran now expects a reply from US President Donald Trump. Rezaei indicated the next steps depend on how the White House responds to the demands.
The statements mark the latest formal articulation of Iran's conditions for talks, communicated via regional intermediaries rather than directly to US officials, according to Rezaei.
How Washington will react to the demands — in particular on the issues of frozen funds and the maritime blockade — remains to be seen.
