A 73-year-old citizen of the Republic of Slovenia has been reported missing after entering North Macedonia on August 1, authorities say. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the woman was last recorded when she crossed the border at the Tabanovce checkpoint and then lost contact with her relatives.
The disappearance was filed yesterday at 17:15 with the Skopje Police Department (SVR Skopje). The report identifies the missing person by the initials K.K. (73) and states that her family became concerned when she stopped answering phone calls following her entry into the country.
Police launch search and tracing measures
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has opened a search for K.K. and says investigators are undertaking several steps to reconstruct her movements after she entered North Macedonia. Officials are working to establish the locations where she may have travelled and the last places where she was seen.
Police sources say officers are checking border records, transport hubs and possible CCTV footage, and they are coordinating field searches. Investigators have not released further personal details about the missing woman while the inquiry continues.
Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist the search to contact the nearest police station or call the free telephone number 192 immediately. The Ministry says the investigation is ongoing and that the public will be updated if new information becomes available.
