Italy and Turkey to contest the European Championship 2026 final

Italy and Turkey will meet in the final of the European Championship 2026 after Italy defeated Poland 3:1 in the second semifinal on 05.09.2026 at 21:30. The victory sends the Italians into the gold-medal match against host nation Turkey on September 6, 2026.

Semifinal summary

Italy took control from the start, winning the opening two sets by identical 25-19 scores. Poland fought back in the third set and claimed it 25-21, but Italy regained momentum and closed out the match by taking the fourth set 25-16.

Earlier in the day the hosts, Turkey, eliminated Serbia with a straight-sets 3:0 victory and await Italy in tomorrow’s title game. The result guarantees a final between the tournament’s host and one of the pre-tournament favourites.

Serbia and Poland will meet in the bronze-medal contest. Both teams will look to end the championship with a podium finish after missing out on the final.
