Italy officially enters EURO 2032 race with 14 stadiums

Italy has formally entered the race to host UEFA EURO 2032 after the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) submitted a complete dossier to UEFA. FIGC president Giovanni Malagò sent an official message to UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin outlining the federation's findings following its internal review of candidate sites.

The Italian bid proposes 13 cities and 14 stadiums that combine renovated arenas and new-build projects. Rome is the only city offering two venues: the existing Stadio Olimpico and a proposed new stadium in Pietralata.

  • Bari (renovated San Nicola)
  • Bologna (new stadium)
  • Cagliari (new stadium)
  • Florence (renovated Artemio Franchi)
  • Genoa (renovated Luigi Ferraris)
  • Lecce (renovated Via del Mare)
  • Milan (new San Siro)
  • Naples (Diego Armando Maradona)
  • Palermo (renovated Renzo Barbera)
  • Rome (Stadio Olimpico and new Pietralata stadium)
  • Salerno (renovated Arechi)
  • Turin (Allianz Stadium)
  • Verona (renovated Marcantonio Bentegodi)

UEFA checks and next steps

UEFA will now perform compliance checks on the submitted files. The inspection covers 11 thematic areas and a total of 120 operational requirements, including infrastructure compatibility, fan services, accessibility, sustainability, provisions for media and broadcasters, security and hospitality.

Once UEFA completes its review, the FIGC will move to the final stage of the process: selecting the five cities that will be designated as hosts for EURO 2032 matches.
