Ivan Varadinovski appointed head coach of FK Skopje

FK Skopje has announced a change on the bench: Ivan Varadinovski has been appointed the club's new head coach, replacing Muarem Muarem after a poor start to the Macedonian First League season. The 30 September 2026 announcement names the Shtip-born tactician as the man entrusted with stabilizing results.

New staff and local ties

Varadinovski arrives with recent experience in the domestic game: he previously coached Novaci, spent last season at Kozhuv, and has worked with Detonit. The club presented him as a young strategist expected to inject fresh ideas into the squad.

Joining Varadinovski on the technical staff is his assistant Ivan Nastevski. The club emphasised the symbolic value of the appointments: "It is of special importance that Ivan Varadinovski and Ivan Nastevski in the past wore the FK Skopje shirt as players, and today return to the club in a new role," the club said.

The new coaching team faces an immediate test: FK Skopje will play the reigning champions Vardar in their next league match, scheduled immediately after the international break. The fixture will be watched as an early indicator of whether the change on the bench can reverse the club's fortunes.

Club officials said the move was made to secure better results in the First Macedonian Football League after a run of disappointing performances at the start of the season. Supporters and the squad will expect quick progress from the new staff.
