The State Election Commission (SEC) reported that voting in the early mayoral election in the Municipality of Brvenica proceeded without major disruptions up to 3:00 p.m.

By that time 5,064 citizens had cast ballots at all 24 polling stations in the municipality, a turnout of 31.17 percent. That is an increase from the first round of the 2025 local elections, when 4,932 voters had voted by the same hour — a rise of 0.62 percentage points.

Complaints and the voters' register

The SEC said seven complaints have been filed so far. Two complaints were upheld and the affected voters were allowed to vote, one was dismissed as unfounded and four remain under review.

The electoral roll for Brvenica lists 16,256 registered voters across ten settlements. Of those, 449 are recorded as temporarily working abroad and nine are registered as being in prison or detention.

The special mayoral vote was called after the death of the sitting mayor, Jovica Ilievski, who died on 23 June this year. Earlier in the day the turnout at 1:00 p.m. was reported as 20.50 percent.
