Lamine Yamal makes history: 14 Champions League goals, breaks Mbappé teen record

Lamine Yamal wrote a new chapter in Champions League history on 3 November 2026. The 19-year-old Barcelona forward reached 14 goals in the competition, overtaking the previous teenage record of Kylian Mbappé, which stood at 13.

Historic strike against Aston Villa

Yamal scored the milestone goal in the 7th minute of Barcelona's match against Aston Villa during the fourth matchday of the group stage. The early strike gave the young Spaniard the outright lead for most Champions League goals by a player who has not yet turned 20.

Reaching 14 goals required 37 Champions League appearances for Yamal, a notably longer run compared with Mbappé, who netted his 13 goals across 23 matches at the same age threshold.

The achievement underlines Yamal's rapid rise at both club and international level as he continues to add significant milestones to his career while still only 19 years old.

Barcelona's forward has now set a new benchmark for teenage scorers in Europe's elite club competition, a record that will be closely watched by fans and pundits alike as the current season progresses.
