Jang Dadi releases "EX YU" with Sead Zele Lipovaca
New single "EX YU" teams Jang Dadi with Sead Zele Lipovaca in a video that mixes Yugoslav rock nostalgia and Skopje scenery.

Pop figure Jang Dadi has released a new single titled "EX YU" and an accompanying video that leans into Yugoslav rock nostalgia — and he did it alongside Sead Zele Lipovaca, the legendary guitarist from Divlje Jagode.
Retro makeover, a Lada and a music cameo
The video story centers on Kiki, played by Katarina Ivanovska, a self-assured woman with a fascination for the culture of former Yugoslavia. Opposite her is Jang Dadi, a modern Skopje nightlife character who quickly realises his usual moves are not enough. To win Kiki over he adopts a full retro rock persona: wig, leather jacket, rings — and the ambition to resemble the famous Zele Lipovaca.
Sead Zele Lipovaca appears in the record as the guest guitarist and performs the solo on the track; he also shows up in the video. The film’s humour comes partly from Dadi’s attempts to master an old Lada — from not knowing how to open it to pushing it through the streets of Skopje, with Kiki repeatedly taking charge.
Shot against recognisable Skopje backdrops, the car and the cityscape are more than decoration: they help sell an idea of an alternative Skopje where rock’n’roll nostalgia and present-day urban life collide. The project mixes humor and classic rock stylings to argue that certain musical eras never truly go out of fashion, even when their cars refuse to start.
The release is issued by Avalon Produkcija and the video was produced by Takat Studio. Jang Dadi is also scheduled to play a large concert on 30 December at T Arena, part of the Boris Trajkovski Sports Center. Tickets are available through the Avalon Booking sales network and online via Avalon Booking.
