RTV Vojvodina issues on-air apology; editor resigns as protesters interrupt TV Informer

The 17:00 Dnevnik newscast on RTV Vojvodina opened with a public apology from presenter Goran Eror addressing viewers over what he described as long-standing failures in the public broadcaster's reporting.

Goran Eror said: "The public service for years did not fulfill its function. It was silenced, one eye was closed, reporting was one-sided and uncritical, and the real questions were not asked or were entirely absent. Because of that, we owe an apology to viewers. Some journalists and editors in this house worked freely and in line with ethical principles. Unfortunately, we did not win the battle in time, but the important thing is to continue."

Shortly after the apology was broadcast, the broadcaster's editor-in-chief, Nenad Ćakić, submitted his resignation. Employees in the television house reacted visibly — footage from inside the building shows staff breaking into a traditional circle dance following the announcement.

Separate disturbance at TV Informer

Tension also flared at the offices of TV Informer when a group of citizens entered the station's building and interrupted a live programme. Clips circulating on social media show editor Dragan Vučićević and several staff members leaving the studio amid the disruption.

The station reported that emergency services were called, stating that one employee had experienced an epileptic seizure. Broadcasters involved have not released additional official statements about either incident at the time of the reports.
