Jordan Mitev baptises son Kristijan on Krstovden and celebrates his first birthday
The folk singer and his wife Slavica shared a family photo and a heartfelt message after the double celebration.
Folk singer Jordan Mitev and his wife Slavica celebrated a deeply personal family milestone today: their son Kristijan was baptized and marked his first birthday on the same day.
Family photo and a father's message
Mitev shared a family photograph taken in front of the church and accompanied it with a heartfelt message addressed to his son.
"My son, congratulations and blessed be your holy christening, may your name be everlasting and happy first birthday. May the Lord always be with you and guide you on the right path. Everything else I wanted to say and wish you is in the song I dedicated to you so that my words always remind you. Amen."
The picture shows the singer holding the little celebrant dressed in white ceremonial clothes, with Slavica and their older daughter Kristina beside them.
Kristijan was born exactly one year ago, on Krstovden (the Feast of the Cross), which gives added spiritual meaning to the family's celebration.
Mitev and Slavica, who was born in Australia, married in 2017 and decided to make their home in his native village of Podaresh in the Radovish area. Their daughter Kristina was born in October 2023 in Australia; both children's names reflect the family's Christian faith.
