Jordan Mitev on Halid's praise and questions about 97-year-old Dobrila Chabric

Folk singer Jordan Mitev said he was pleasantly surprised to hear his name praised on one of the region's popular TV talent shows.

On an episode of the series Nikogash ne e docna from a previous season, veteran star Halid Muslimovic spoke warmly about Mitev before a performance by Macedonian contestant Toni Tushev. "I recently was in Skopje, at Jordan Mitev's, he is my good friend, and I recorded one of his songs. A good singer, a good man, a good musician, educated," Muslimovic said, offering encouragement to the contestant.

Muslimovic, who launched his career in 1982 and became one of the best-known singers in the former Yugoslavia with several million records sold, used the moment to praise colleagues from across the region.

Mitev has also appeared on Nikogash ne e docna as a guest member of the jury. He accepted the invitation and told cameras the show is one of his parents' favorites.

His guest appearance drew attention, particularly when he sat at the piano and performed his popular song "Nazdravi za ljubov," a number he used to open the episode dedicated to veteran performers.

During that visit Mitev addressed the question circulating about whether 97-year-old Dobrila Chabric is his grandmother; the programme carries the full exchange in its broadcast.
