Vodovod: Skopje's drinking water is safe

Public Enterprise Vodovod and Sewerage – Skopje announced that drinking water in Skopje is safe. The utility said the latest test results show all analyzed samples meet the legal standards for drinking-water safety and quality.

Sampling and laboratory testing

During the day the sanitary control sector collected 42 samples from the Skopje supply network, four of which were taken from the Nerezi-Lepenec well field. The samples underwent both physico-chemical and microbiological analyses.

Analyses were carried out in accredited laboratories in accordance with the ISO 17025:2018 standard. The company emphasised that testing followed the procedures required by accreditation.

According to the enterprise, monitoring is performed in line with applicable regulations on drinking-water safety and quality. The reported results confirm that water from the Skopje supply system is suitable for drinking.

Vodovod and Sewerage – Skopje said routine monitoring of the network will continue and that residents will be informed should any future issues arise.
