Manchester United travel to Como severely weakened by injuries

Manchester United have flown to Italy ahead of their Champions League meeting with Como but will arrive severely weakened by injuries.

Manager Michael Carrick travelled with a depleted group after a run of fitness problems left the squad short, particularly in defence.

Absent players include Ejden Heven, Luk Sho, Lisandro Martinez, Kobi Mejnu, Markus Rashford, Bejmamin Sheshko, Manuer Ugarte… These names represent several of the faces who, when fit, would normally challenge for starting places.

Squad limitations ahead of the match

The disruption compounds a difficult season for United, who have struggled to produce wins across competitions. Carrick must now consider alternatives and possible reshuffles to cover the missing personnel.

The match against Como is scheduled for October 21, 2026 at 21:00 (local time).
