Juventus to be without Khephren Thuram for about four months

03.09.2026 19:15 — Juventus will be without midfielder Khephren Thuram for roughly the first half of the 2026/27 campaign after the 25-year-old was advised to undergo knee surgery.

Thuram, a 25-year-old French international, has been struggling with knee problems since the end of last season. He initially followed a conservative treatment plan over the summer, but persistent discomfort led to the decision to operate.

Details of the injury and next steps

The diagnosis was patellar chondropathy. In the coming days Thuram is scheduled to travel to Lyon to have the procedure, and the club now expects him to be sidelined for about four months while he recovers.

The expected absence means Thuram will miss Juventus' matches during approximately the first half of the season, leaving the midfield group shorter of depth as the club navigates domestic and European commitments.

Juventus and the player's medical team will monitor the recovery timetable closely; final return-to-play dates will depend on rehabilitation progress after the operation.
