Neto returns to Juventus, signs until 30 June 2027
Juventus confirm the 37-year-old goalkeeper's return to Turin nine years after leaving, following Kamil Grabara’s serious knee injury.
On 28 September 2026 Juventus confirmed the return of Brazilian goalkeeper Neto to Turin, signing the 37-year-old on a deal running until 30 June 2027.
Experience and context
Neto already wore the Juventus shirt between 2015 and 2017, when he made 22 appearances and collected two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia trophies and one Supercoppa Italiana.
The veteran arrives as a free agent after leaving Botafogo this summer. His return comes amid problems in Juventus’ goalkeeping department: Kamil Grabara, who joined from Wolfsburg in the summer, suffered a serious knee injury and is expected to be sidelined for an extended period.
Juventus have added Neto to bring experience and immediate cover for the remainder of the season, with the club setting the contract expiry on 30 June 2027.
Before his first spell at Juventus, Neto also had spells with Barcelona, Arsenal and Bournemouth; the club will rely on his experience while managing the absence of the younger goalkeepers.
At 37, Neto returns to a familiar city and dressing room nearly nine years after his previous stint in Turin, as Juventus seek stability at the goalkeeper position.
