U16s edged by Ukraine, finish group stage with 84-70 loss

North Macedonia's U16 men's team closed the group stage of the FIBA U16 European Championship Division B with a defeat, losing 84-70 to Ukraine in the contest for third place in their group.

Earlier it had already been confirmed that North Macedonia would continue the tournament in the 9th–16th place classification round.

Decisive third quarter

The outcome was effectively settled in the third quarter, when Ukraine outscored North Macedonia 24-10 and opened a lead the hosts could not erase.

North Macedonia mounted a late push in the closing minutes, but there was not enough time to complete a comeback.

Shabani finished as the team leader with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Konevski delivered another strong performance with 16 points and 7 rebounds, and Andjelovski also scored 16 points.
