Carles Puyol expands property holdings after Massivert SL raises €8.5M

Carles Puyol, the former Barcelona captain, has been quietly expanding his business interests into real estate, a move that has attracted attention after his company Massivert SL increased its share capital by €8.5 million.

Records indicate Puyol owns several properties across Spain. Those holdings reportedly include a rural estate on the Costa Brava, a property in the El Maresme area and two separate units inside Barcelona — the city where he spent the bulk of his playing career.

Massivert SL has in recent months shifted more of its activity toward the property sector, according to filings that show the capital boost. Analysts caution, however, that an increase in registered capital does not automatically mean the entire amount has already been spent on specific purchases.

Business footprint and residence

Puyol has lived in Andorra since 2022, but his investment profile extends into Spanish coastal and urban markets. Costa Brava and El Maresme remain popular with buyers because of their seaside locations and proximity to Barcelona, factors that make them attractive for long-term property investment.

During his playing days Puyol was noted for his leadership, discipline and combative defending. He won multiple domestic titles with Barcelona and also lifted the UEFA Champions League with the club, achievements that shaped his public reputation.

While fans still remember him primarily for his moments on the pitch, Puyol’s expanding property portfolio shows how former footballers often turn to real estate to secure long-term income streams. It remains to be seen how aggressively Massivert SL will deploy the newly increased capital.
