Midfielder Carlos Baleba joins Manchester United from Brighton in a deal worth about £65m plus up to €6m in bonuses.
25.08.2026 18:45 — Manchester United have completed the signing of Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
The transfer carries a fixed fee of around £65 million, with the overall package able to increase by an additional €6 million in performance-related bonuses.
The 22-year-old has agreed a multi-year contract with the Red Devils after passing his medical examinations, and club officials moved quickly to finalise the paperwork following the tests.
United manager Michael Carrick’s squad have made Baleba their most expensive summer arrival, as the club reshapes its midfield options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Baleba is the third notable midfield addition this summer for Manchester United, following earlier signings of Youri Tielemans and Andrej Santos.
The club expect Baleba to be available for selection and potentially make his debut in the next round of Premier League fixtures.
