Karposh residents complain: Atinska Street was dug up and abandoned, we're covered in dust!
Residents say the dust is damaging their cars and demand a deadline after the July 10 start that promised 30 working days and a 16 million denar investment.

Atinska Street in the Municipality of Karposh, in the section that runs alongside Osmi Septemvri Boulevard, has been left dug up for a month after the start of July announcement that its reconstruction would begin, and residents complain about dust and damaged vehicles.
Residents of the nearby apartment buildings say they are choking on dust every day and that parked cars have suffered damage. One resident described: "We broke the cars and we are covered in dust. They removed the existing asphalt a month ago and since then there has been neither workers nor machinery on site. Yesterday afternoon they parked one small excavator on the street and that was it. I don't understand why they start something and then leave it unfinished."
Mayor Sotir Lukrovski announced on July 10 that construction activities on the street were beginning and promised a full overhaul: "We are starting a complete reconstruction of this part of Atinska Street. We ask citizens for patience and understanding while the construction activities last," the mayor said. He stated that the value of the investment is 16 million denars, and the deadline for completion is 30 working days.
Tensions and demands
In a social media post a Karposh resident expressed outrage over the halt in work: "A month ago you dig a street on Osmi Septemvri Boulevard and leave it unfinished. For a month we are choking in sand! In response to citizens you say the same crew is digging here, digging there, that you will come and asphalt. Today you say that your crew is on annual leave. You could have closed the street and prevented this torture! By what right are you so irresponsible and harming the health of citizens!?"
The Municipality of Karposh replied that curbstones and stormwater drains are being installed on site and that "Additionally, in the next few days the first layer of asphalt will be laid on the street. With the current pace, the workers will continue with the implementation of this project," the Municipality responded, although the response does not mention that the deadline for completing the project had expired on August 10.
Residents who sent photographs say the images do not show significant activity on site and have asked the municipality for a specific schedule and measures to control the dust until the street is fully completed.
