Alejandro Catena's late header in the 90th minute rescued Osasuna from defeat as the teams played out a 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao on 7 November 2026.
Match turning points
A tight contest at El Sadar looked to be slipping away from the home side after Nico Williams gave the visitors the lead in the 85th minute. Athletic Bilbao had been the stronger side for long spells and had earlier struck the woodwork when Berringer hit the post in the 39th minute.
The Williams brothers combined to create Athletic's opener: older brother Iñaki provided the assist and the younger, Nico, finished the counter to put Athletic ahead late in the second half.
Osasuna found a response deep into stoppage time when Alejandro Catena positioned himself in the visitors' penalty area and powered a header under the crossbar to level the score in the 90th minute, securing a point for the hosts.
After the draw Osasuna sit 16th in the table with 12 points, while Athletic Bilbao occupy seventh place with four more points.
The result leaves both sides with work to do as the season progresses, with Athletic arguably the stronger team on the night but Osasuna earning a valuable late salvage at home.
