Katerina Nikoloska continues to carry Macedonian judo onto the world stage

The Macedonian judo community has had a busy fortnight around one of its most visible international referees, Katerina Nikoloska. The account dated 26.08.2026 lists a string of recent appointments that underline her continuing presence at top-level events.

She began the period at home with the Junior European Cup in Skopje, then traveled to Peru to serve as an official at Grand Prix Lima. From there Nikoloska flew on to the World Cadets Championship in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where she again represented Macedonian judo on the global stage.

New competitions follow without a break

There is no pause in her schedule. Nikoloska is due to take part in the Mediterranean Games in Taranto — an event where she has personal experience as an athlete, having represented North Macedonia and the Macedonian Olympic Committee at Mersin 2013.

Immediately after Taranto she is scheduled to officiate at the European Junior Championships in Podgorica, extending a run of high-level international assignments that stretches across continents and age categories.

From competitor on the tatami to referee at world tournaments, Nikoloska’s path illustrates sustained dedication and a continuing effort to raise the profile of Macedonian judo abroad.

The national judo community views these appointments as recognition of long-term work by an official who keeps appearing at major events and who helps maintain North Macedonia’s presence in international judo fora.
