Kim Jong-un Visits China to Open New Cross‑Border Bridge
Kim Jong-un arrived on Saturday for a ceremonial opening of a new cross-border bridge and urged deeper cooperation with Beijing.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un traveled to China on Saturday to officially open a new bridge linking the two countries, and he expressed hope for expanded cooperation with Beijing.
Visit aims to deepen ties amid regional alignment
The trip is the latest move in what analysts describe as a more active foreign policy by Pyongyang intended to draw North Korea closer to Beijing and Moscow in a shared front against the United States, a development Kim frames as "a new cold war."
This marks Kim's first visit to China in a year. The visit included a ceremonial opening of the cross-border structure and remarks about strengthening bilateral cooperation.
South Korea's Ministry of Unification and the Chinese state news agency Xinhua reported that Kim arrived in the Chinese border city of Dandong after crossing the newly opened bridge.
Observers say the visit—symbolized by the bridge opening—underscores a trend of tighter coordination among Pyongyang, Beijing and Moscow, and will be closely watched for any concrete economic or security agreements that follow.
