Kire Naunovski turns 46, surprised at home by wife Marija and their sons

Folk singer Kire Naunovski celebrated his 46th birthday at home, where his wife Marija and their two sons surprised him with a family party. They decorated the house with gold balloons shaped as the number 46 and placed a themed birthday cake showing a small figure modelled on his likeness and the inscription "Sreken rodenden zvezdichke" ("Happy birthday, little star").

Kire returned home visibly moved and spent the evening smiling and sharing the warm atmosphere with his followers on social media. The family filmed parts of the celebration and posted moments that showed him enjoying the surprise.

Family first

The singer and his wife Marija are parents to two sons. Recently Kire spoke openly about his private life, family and values during the TV programme "Kafe muabeti".

On the show he explained why home life matters to him: "In my view the most important thing of all is family. That's how I was raised… Once you build a family, that is the end of the story, that is the most important thing – the children and the wife. Wherever you go, you have to return home. When I go to work, wherever I am, the first thing I want to do is come back home and see my children and my wife. Simply put, I couldn't live otherwise… My children are my hobby," Kire said on the programme.

He added that material things are not the key to happiness: "So it's not all about money. Or at least that's how I understood life – money is needed, but it's not the most important. There are some things that cannot be bought with money. That's why I first and foremost raise my children to be decent people, to be well-mannered, in one word to be people. That is most important to me," the singer said, underlining that the warm family home he and Marija have built is his greatest reward.
