Klopp: "I'm not preparing for new Premier League titles with Liverpool"
Germany coach says he will wait for the outcome of Manchester City's appeal and is not expecting retroactive trophies for Liverpool.

Jürgen Klopp said he is not preparing for any retroactive Premier League trophies for Liverpool after an independent panel found Manchester City guilty of breaching financial rules.
Klopp: I'll wait for the outcome
The allegations against Manchester City were first filed in 2023 and relate to financial irregularities between 2009 and 2018. The club has denied the accusations and announced it will appeal the ruling; if that appeal fails, City faces fines, point deductions or even expulsion from the Premier League — and one possible sanction is the stripping of previously won titles.
Klopp, who left Liverpool in the summer of 2024 and returned to management at the start of 2026 as Germany's national team coach, was speaking at a pre-match press conference as he prepared his side for the Nations League fixture against Serbia on October 1, 2026.
Asked whether Liverpool could be awarded any of City's titles retroactively, he replied: "Of course, I heard about it, but I haven't thought much about it. I can only wait and see what happens. I have great respect for Pep Guardiola and City's style of play; they played fantastic football and were an excellent opponent for us. If there are any sanctions, I have nothing to do with that and I will await the outcome," Klopp said.
He added directly: "I am absolutely not preparing for any title. I am completely satisfied with what we achieved at Liverpool. We fought hard on the pitch. I can't say anything more because I don't know the details and, honestly, I don't care."
During his time at Liverpool Klopp won eight trophies, including the club's long-awaited Premier League title in 2020 — the first since 1990 — and the Champions League in 2018/19.
