Como rout Fiorentina 3–1 in Florence

Como stunned Fiorentina in Florence, winning 3:1 in the seventh round of the Italian Serie A on 18.10.2026. The visitors secured a convincing victory that left Fiorentina, recently taken over by Paolo Vanoli, deeper in trouble and sitting inside the relegation zone after another defeat.

The result extended a difficult run for the Viola, who flirted with relegation throughout last season and look set for another stressful campaign despite hosting a side that represents Italy in the Champions League.

Key moments and scorers

Como opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when Kakere played a pass down the right to 19-year-old Matija Liberali. The young Italian cut inside and finished with a precise strike into the far corner past a helpless De Hea.

Four minutes later Nico Paz added a second, using his head to convert a cross from Vale.

Fiorentina reduced the deficit before half-time when Marin Pongracic found space in the penalty area and scored in the 42nd minute. Pongracic had a second effort in the final moments of the first half ruled out for offside.

In the 56th minute Anastasios Douvikas further punished the home side: the Greece international deceived his marker and fired past the poorly positioned De Hea, putting the game beyond Fiorentina's reach. Cesc Fabregas's Como held on comfortably and climbed to fourth place in Serie A with 14 points, while Fiorentina dropped to 17th with only four.
