Como make historic Champions League debut; Bayern rout Bodø/Glimt 5-0; Manchester United 4-0 Sabah

Skopje, 10 September 2026 — Como produced a memorable first evening in the UEFA Champions League, edging out Leipzig and securing a historic win in their maiden appearance in Europe's top club competition.

The hosts dominated the opening half and took the lead in the 13th minute when Martin Baturina finished from close range following an assist by Tasos Douvikas. Como doubled their advantage in the 38th minute after Baturina’s vertical pass released Douvikas, who rounded the goalkeeper and converted with a precise right-foot strike.

Leipzig pushed harder after the break, but Como defended resolutely and looked for counters; in the 52nd minute Assana Diao increased the margin to 3:0. Leipzig responded through Andrija Maksimović in the 58th minute, but Como added a fourth goal late on through Perone to make it 4:1.

At Old Trafford, Manchester United opened their Champions League campaign emphatically with a 4:0 victory over Sabah. Mateus Cunha opened the scoring in the 28th minute, Bruno Fernandes made it 2:0 in the 43rd, and Benjamin Sesko added a third two minutes later. Lisandro Martinez sealed the win in the 69th minute; Sesko’s strike was his first Champions League goal for Manchester United.

Bayern Munich began their group stage with a convincing 5:0 victory over Bodø/Glimt at the Allianz Arena. After a goalless first half, Jamal Musiala struck in the 47th minute to break the deadlock. Harry Kane extended the lead in the 61st minute, Alphonso Davies increased it in the 77th, and Michael Olise scored in the 83rd and again in stoppage time to complete the rout.

Lens completed a late comeback at Slavia Prague: trailing 2:1, the visitors scored in the 91st and 93rd minutes to turn the game around and take all three points. Earlier, Rastoder had scored in a convincing win for Panathinaikos.
