Jeff Bezos‑led group reportedly set to buy significant stake in Liverpool
Consortium led by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is said to seek a 33% stake in Liverpool, with an announcement possible by the end of the week.

A consortium led by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is reported to be preparing a major investment in Liverpool FC, with an announcement expected "by the end of the week."
The group reportedly includes Eduardo Saverin, one of Facebook's co‑founders, and Indian businessman Amit Bhatia. The new investors are said to be aiming to acquire a 33 percent stake in the club, which is currently valued at 6.000.000.000 dollars.
What the deal would mean
Current owners Fenway Sports Group — led by John Henry — bought Liverpool for around 400.000.000 dollars in October 2010 and say they remain interested in the club. How much the club's financial and sporting strategy would change under partial new ownership remains unclear.
Under Fenway, Liverpool has taken a cautious approach to spending for years: renovating and expanding Anfield and building the Kirkby training complex, funded largely from club revenues. That approach shifted visibly last summer with a string of high‑cost signings.
Last summer's transfer activity included players such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak, Milos Kerkez and others. The club reportedly paid 80.000.000 for Zheremi Zhak, and could face another large fee for Bradley Barcola if a deal with Paris Saint‑Germain is completed.
If confirmed, the move would place one of the world's wealthiest figures — Bezos, described as "the third richest person in the world (estimated wealth of 280.000.000.000) behind the Google owners, Larry Page and Elon Musk" — in a prominent role among Liverpool's investors.
