Angeli players send message for Antonio Savevski: "Forever in our hearts and minds"

One month has passed since the traffic accident that took the life of Antonio Savevski. The 33-year-old coach, whose death shocked the Macedonian sporting community, is being remembered this week by players connected with the club Angeli.

Savevski worked with several domestic teams during his career: Ohrid, Vardar, and later with Vodno Sans and Angeli. He was widely known for his work with young players, a commitment that colleagues and former pupils say left a lasting mark on youth basketball in the country.

Tribute from three age groups

On October 4, 2026, players from three youth generations at Angeli — born in 2009, 2010 and 2011 — issued a short but powerful message for their late coach. They wrote: "Your spirit and love for basketball will remain with us forever. FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS AND MINDS."

The club's younger squads, who trained under coaches from different eras, described Savevski's departure as a deep loss for family, friends, teammates and the broader basketball community.

Though the teams continue regular training, the message from the 2009, 2010 and 2011 players underlined how his influence endures among the players he worked with most closely.
