Kozhuv begins season with younger squad and a top‑four target
Gevgelija club confirmed seven local players, three foreigners and retained last season's MVP Teri Armstrong as it aims for a top-four Superleague spot.
Kozhuv announced a refreshed, younger roster and an explicit target to climb the standings and fight for a top-four finish in the Macedonian Superleague at a press conference on September 29, 2026.
Squad makeup and aims
Seven of the 12 players in the roster are from Gevgelija, and the team has added three foreign players. The club also confirmed that last season's Superleague MVP, Teri Armstrong, remains with the squad.
Coach Misho Todorovic said he expects a combative Kozhuv and urged consistent effort from the players, while captain Ilija Kolev called on supporters and the fan group "Phantoms" to back the team.
President Zafir Chuchanov set the competitive target plainly: "The last two years we finished in 5th place in the Superleague. This season, step by step, we aim to be among the first four teams. We expect one of the most unpredictable championships so far, given the strength of the rosters at all clubs," he said.
Todorovic added a reminder of the club's history and ambition: "Kozhuv is a club with tradition, a club that has played a Superleague final and a Cup final. It is a brand that has endured for many years on the basketball map. Our goal is to give our maximum and to fight for every match, for every ball and for every minute, to produce the best possible result."
The club also highlighted investment in its youth academy: for the first time four age groups will compete in youth leagues, underlining a long-term plan to promote local talent from Gevgelija.
