Criminal complaint filed against 46-year-old Skopje man for posting TV episodes on Facebook without rights
Ministry of Internal Affairs says digital forensics confirmed J.K. published episodes in 2024 that were exclusively licensed to a TV broadcaster.

A criminal complaint has been filed against a 46-year-old man from Skopje on suspicion of copyright infringement and piracy of an audiovisual work, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said on Thursday.
Investigation and forensics
The Sector for Computer Crime and Digital Forensics at the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the suspect, identified only as J.K., acted as an administrator of a Facebook page and during 2024 published episodes of a television series without authorization.
According to the ministry's statement, the exclusive copyright for that series had been granted to the programming service of a television broadcaster on the basis of a previously concluded contract, and the posts on the Facebook page were made despite that exclusivity.
The procedure was launched after a television broadcaster submitted a report to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office (Skopje). By order of the prosecutor's office, the police carried out an investigation, summoned the reported person for an informative interview and temporarily seized an electronic device belonging to him.
Following a digital-forensic analysis of the seized device, the Ministry said the findings confirmed the allegations in the report and the statement given by the reported person. A criminal complaint has now been submitted to the competent authorities.
