Instructor charged after Swedish passenger fractured leg in tandem paragliding landing near Struga
Struga police say the instructor allegedly failed to give necessary instructions before the 28.07.2026 tandem paragliding landing that left the passenger with serious leg injuries.
The Struga Police Department filed a criminal complaint on behalf of public safety authorities against K.T. (43) from Prilep on suspicion of committing the criminal offence of "severe bodily injury".
According to the police statement, on 28.07.2026 K.T., acting as a paragliding instructor with a paragliding company, arranged a tandem flight with A.G.B. (37) from Sweden but "without giving the necessary instructions and guidance".
During the landing near Struga the passenger sustained "severe bodily injuries to one leg" and was transported to St. Erasmus Hospital in Ohrid for treatment, the bulletin says.
Investigation and legal status
The criminal complaint names K.T. as the suspect and cites the alleged failure to provide required safety instructions as the basis for the charge of severe bodily injury.
Police documentation lists the date of the incident and the identities by initials and ages: K.T. (43) from Prilep and A.G.B. (37) from Sweden. The authorities have lodged the complaint with the competent prosecutorial bodies, and criminal proceedings are now pending.
