Cucurella lets mailman wear his World Cup gold for a photo — clip goes viral

On 1 August 2026 Marc Cucurella surprised a local postman with an unexpectedly generous gesture that quickly spread on social media.

The Spanish full-back, who left Chelsea at the end of last season to sign a multi-year contract with Real Madrid before the World Cup, is still on holiday after helping Spain win the tournament. He travelled to England during the break to finish moving and — according to reports — will join Real Madrid's preparations for the new season at the end of next week.

A simple knock, an unforgettable souvenir

While in the neighbourhood where he used to live, a mail carrier knocked at Cucurella's door and asked for a selfie. Cucurella agreed without hesitation, then went a step further: he retrieved his World Cup gold medal from inside his home and handed it to the postman so they could take a photograph together.

The moment was shared online and drew wide attention. One post captured the scene with the caption: "Marc Cucurella let his mailman wear his #FIFAWorldCup gold medal 😂🥇👏" — TSN (@TSN_Sports), July 31, 2026. The image and the short account of the encounter were soon picked up and circulated across platforms.

Fans and neighbours praised the player for the spontaneous act, calling it a sign of humility after the highs of winning the World Cup. Cucurella's gesture added a human note to a summer that also included his high-profile club transfer.
