Kuzeska: Prosecutor’s Office silent after SDSM complaints against officials

SDSM spokesperson Bogdanka Kuzeska criticized today that the Prosecutor’s Office has remained silent despite the party having submitted months ago complaints, documents and evidence alleging serious criminality, corruption, abuses and risks to public health linked to officials in power.

Speaking at a press conference, Kuzeska contrasted the authorities’ swift reaction when VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski indicates who should be prosecuted with the inaction she says follows SDSM’s formal submissions. "When Mickoski announces who will be accused, the institutions immediately spring into action. But when SDSM delivers documents and reports about officials in power — silence follows," she said, and asked about the status of the criminal complaint over the water poisoning in Gostivar.

Kuzeska reminded that "5,000 citizens" were hospitalized after the incident in Gostivar, and that the opposition filed a criminal complaint against the Minister of Health Sashko Klekovski and senior officials in health institutions. She asked: "Were they summoned for questioning? Who will be held responsible? Why is there silence?"

She also pressed for updates on alleged corrupt procurement worth around €100 million, which SDSM’s anti‑corruption team has publicly detailed and formally reported. "The anti‑corruption team of SDSM has so far published cases of criminal tenders worth over €100 million, filed official criminal complaints, documents and evidence. Nine months have passed since the first complaint. There is nothing. It is not known whether anyone has been summoned, whether the evidence has been checked, who is responsible," Kuzeska said.

Finally, Kuzeska referenced the recently reported contracts in the Ministry of Digital Transformation worth €1.5 million and other accusations addressed to the authorities. "The latest scandal, with the new contracts of €1.5 million in the Ministry of Digital Transformation. How many millions need to be at stake for institutions to wake up? Why is nobody answering for the attack on young people in Novo Selo? What is the status of the criminal complaint against police officers and Manasievski for classified official documents that ended up in the VMRO-DPMNE party headquarters?" she asked.
