Lavrov tells UN General Assembly that Europe is fuelling the war in Ukraine
At the UN General Assembly, Lavrov accused Europe of blocking peace talks, said the West arms Kyiv and warned the war will continue until Russian objectives are achieved.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the UN General Assembly that European countries are encouraging the war in Ukraine and doing everything they can to block any possibility of peace talks.
Addressing world leaders in New York, Lavrov accused Western governments of supplying Kyiv with weapons and assisting it "to target civilians and civilian infrastructure with unmanned aerial vehicles and missiles."

He also warned that the conflict will go on. In his address he said that "Our struggle for truth and justice will continue to the end … Military objectives will be achieved … The threat to Russian security will be removed and peaceful life will be restored," attributing the words to himself at the UN.
Lavrov claimed that Europe understands the futility of its efforts but nevertheless acts to prevent a peaceful settlement. He specifically alleged that many parties interested in negotiations include "the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump."
Lastly, Lavrov accused the West of increasingly resorting to naked force and acting unpredictably and irresponsibly, endangering the lives and welfare of millions — if not billions — on the planet they share, he said.
