Los Angeles Lakers suffered their first loss of the new NBA season on October 28, 2026, falling 129–136 at home to the Portland Trail Blazers at Crypto.com Arena.
Luka Dončić led the scoring with 41 points and also handed out nine assists while adding five rebounds, one block and two turnovers. He shot 6/7 on two-pointers and 6/15 from beyond the arc. This marked the twentieth 40-point game of his tenure with the Lakers, making him only the sixth player in franchise history to reach that milestone in a Lakers uniform.
Despite Dončić’s performance, Portland executed late and pulled away in a tense contest, leaving the Lakers unable to recover in front of their home crowd.
