Lejson Zeqiri named Kosovo League MVP for September

Lejson Zeqiri, a forward for Bashkimi of Prizren and a member of the North Macedonia national team, was chosen as the Kosovo League's Most Valuable Player for September. The league announced the honor on October 4, 2026.

Strong form ahead of national team duty

Coach Jose Maria Berokal called Zeqiri's run of form "excellent news" as North Macedonia prepares for two upcoming pre-qualifier fixtures on the road to EuroBasket 2029 qualification. Zeqiri's performances for Bashkimi have given the national side an attacking option in good rhythm.

In Bashkimi's recent victory over reigning champions Trepça, Zeqiri contributed 10 points and eight rebounds in the win. Earlier this month he had a 17-point showing in another league outing for Bashkimi.

Those numbers, combined with consistent contributions across September, made him the standout candidate for the monthly award in Kosovo's increasingly competitive domestic competition.

The Kosovo Basketball League has been strengthening year on year, with higher-quality rosters and growing budgets that are raising the level of play and the profile of its awards.

For Zeqiri, the MVP accolade is both individual recognition and a timely confidence boost as he joins national team preparations ahead of North Macedonia's next steps in the qualification process for EuroBasket 2029.
