Zlatan Ibrahimović turned 45 and bought a new Ferrari

Legendary Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimović turned 45 yesterday. The now-retired striker was born on 3.10.1981 in Malmö and built a storied playing career; today he works as a sports executive and ambassador, travels widely as a football envoy and “was one of the main technical consultants on the TV broadcasts of the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.”

Birthday purchase: a new Ferrari

Through his social media accounts yesterday Ibrahimović revealed that he celebrated his birthday by buying a brand-new Ferrari. The post appeared on his Instagram account and was accompanied by images of the car.

Ibrahimović has said he enjoys retirement and is not shy about treating himself on special occasions. The Ferrari acquisition follows a string of high-profile appearances and his continuing work in football off the pitch.

Such purchases are hardly unusual among very wealthy and ultra-popular figures, and the announcement drew quick attention across fans and the sports media.
