Liverpool without Isak, Gakpo and Szoboszlai for LASK trip
Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai miss the Champions League trip to LASK in Austria because of injuries; coach Iraola cites congested schedule.
On October 13, 2026 Liverpool confirmed three absences ahead of their Champions League trip to LASK in Austria: Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai will not be available for selection.
Injury details and recent fitness
Isak is sidelined with a thigh muscle injury sustained while on international duty. Gakpo is struggling with an ankle problem, and Szoboszlai is out with a hamstring strain — the latter did not feature in Liverpool's 0-3 defeat to Manchester City.
Head coach Andoni Iraola has warned that the congested calendar complicates recovery plans, with Liverpool facing four matches across a ten-day stretch. That schedule reduces the margin for rehabilitation and rotation.
Club medical staff currently regard the injuries to Isak and Gakpo as not long-term. Both players will be assessed on a day-to-day basis as Liverpool manage their workload in the coming fixtures.
With three attacking options unavailable for the trip to Austria, squad selection will be adjusted for the Champions League tie against LASK. The club said it will continue to monitor all players closely and provide updates as assessments progress.
