Liverpool: Cody Gakpo a doubt, Bradley Barcola cleared for Fulham match

Liverpool face uncertainty over Cody Gakpo’s availability for their Premier League meeting with Fulham on 12 September 2026, while Bradley Barcola has been given the green light to be involved.

Fitness update from the final training

Gakpo missed Liverpool’s Champions League trip to Atlético Madrid after suffering a groin problem and did not take part in Thursday’s training session. Manager Andoni Iraola said no final decision has yet been made about the Dutch forward’s inclusion for the Fulham game, and the club planned to test him in the last training before kick-off.

The forward’s absence from Thursday’s work has left his participation in doubt, with Liverpool monitoring how he responds to the tests and any late treatment ahead of the match on 12 September 2026.

By contrast, France international Bradley Barcola has been cleared of injury and is expected to be available for selection. Barcola was withdrawn against Atlético Madrid because of cramps, but Iraola described that issue as fatigue and muscular tightness rather than a structural injury.

With one final session to come, Liverpool will assess both players’ conditions before naming the squad for the Premier League fixture against Fulham.
