Liverpool failed to win again in the Premier League on 29 August 2026, drawing 2-2 at Anfield with Nottingham Forest after a game in which the visitors took the lead twice and the hosts had to fight back to salvage a point.
Forest opened the scoring in the 24th minute through Dan Ndoye, who put the visitors ahead with a well-timed finish that unsettled Liverpool's defence.
Liverpool levelled shortly after the hour mark when Alexander Isak scored in the 60th minute, restoring parity and lifting the home crowd's hopes of a comeback.
Morgan Gibbs-White penalty restores Forest advantage
Those hopes were dented again in the 70th minute when Morgan Gibbs-White converted from the penalty spot to give Nottingham Forest a renewed lead.
Liverpool pushed forward in search of an equaliser and were rewarded in the 82nd minute when Victor Munoz produced an eye-catching strike — his first goal for the club — to make it 2-2.
This was Liverpool's second draw in the opening two rounds of the Premier League, following the 2-2 at Newcastle, and new manager Andoni Iraola is still awaiting his first league victory.
