Champions League: Draws for PSV and Fenerbahçe as both matches finish 1–1

On 10 September 2026, the opening day of the UEFA Champions League group stage produced two draws: PSV Eindhoven 1–1 Shakhtar Donetsk and Fenerbahçe 1–1 Roma.
In Eindhoven Shakhtar struck first late in the first half — "Mendoza" scored in the first minute of first-half stoppage time to put the visitors ahead. PSV responded at the start of the second half when Sergiño Dest levelled the score in the 48th minute. PSV had a chance to turn the game around but a shot by Van Bommel went wide; the match finished 1–1.
Istanbul: Roma and Fenerbahçe share the points
In Istanbul Roma took the lead in the 39th minute through Cristante after an assist from Malen, following an earlier big miss by Paulo Dybala. Fenerbahçe struck back immediately after the break when Brown converted a Greenwood assist in the 48th minute.
The Turkish side were the closer to a winner in the closing stages — Aké had the best opportunity in the 86th minute but his shot hit the crossbar. Both fixtures left the teams sharing one point each in the opening round.
