Luka Antic begins coaching career at IBA Academy
The 19-year-old son of Pero Antic will join the academy as an assistant for teams up to under-16.
Luka Antic, the eldest son of former professional player Pero Antic, officially begins a coaching career at IBA Academy. The 19-year-old will join the academy's coaching staff and work as an assistant with the youngest age groups up to under-16, the academy announced.
From player to coach
Antic has until now pursued a playing career: he was a member of North Macedonia's youth national teams and competed domestically with Vardar and Feniks, appearing in the First League. At 19, he has chosen to move into coaching.
According to the announcement, Antic will be integrated into the academy’s coaching team and will focus on training and supporting the youngest players in the school, serving in an assistant role for the under-16 squads.
The step marks an early transition from player to coach for Antic, who remains one of the more high-profile young figures with a family background in the sport. The academy framed the appointment as part of its programme to develop both players and future coaches.
